Creating Forms
SendForm.live makes it easy to create beautiful, functional forms without any coding. Here's everything you need to know about building forms.
Creating a New Form
- Click New Form from your dashboard
- Enter a name for your form (this is for your reference only)
- Add fields using the buttons for each type (+ Text, + Email, and so on)
- Configure each field's properties
- Click Create Form to save
Form Name
The form name identifies your form in the dashboard, and it is also shown publicly: it is the heading on your form page, the browser tab title, and the heading in the embedded widget. Give it a name you're happy for respondents to read.
Adding Fields
Each field you add collects one piece of information. You can add as many fields as you need. For each field, you can configure:
- Label: What the user sees (e.g., "Your Name")
- Type: What kind of input (text, email, dropdown, etc.)
- Placeholder: Example text shown in the empty field
- Required: Whether the field must be filled out
Reordering Fields
Use the up and down arrows on each field to reorder them. The order you set here is the order users will see when filling out your form.
Editing Existing Forms
To edit a form, click on it from your dashboard, then click Edit Form. You can add, remove, or modify fields at any time. Changes apply once you click Save Changes - nothing is saved until then.
Deleting Fields
Click the trash icon on any field to remove it. Nothing is lost until you click Save Changes, so you can leave the page to undo a removal by mistake. Once saved, the field is gone from the form - existing submissions keep the data they already collected.
